Choosing the right travel document

What sort of traveller are you?
Do you travel a little, a lot or all the time? Do you travel far? Do you know whether your age or status make you eligible for lowered rates? We will assist you!
How frequently do you travel?
- A little: I choose a single ticket (1 journey and 1 day)
- A lot: I choose a multi-journey ticket (Multi 4, Multi 6, Multi 8 or Multiflex)
- All the time: A subscription would be the best option (monthly, annual or 4- or 6- months for those aged 12–17 years old).
- Passengers aged 18-24 years, 65+ or with the BIM status can purchase an annual EXPRESS ticket for €12.
- The annual EXPRESS ticket is free for children aged 6-11 years.
- The annual EXPRESS season ticket is free of charge for those aged over 65 with BIM status.

*Single tickets are more expensive if you buy them on board: +€0.50/1 trip +€0.90/Next 1 day +€2/Express 1 day.
An additional cost of €0.30 applies for single ticket and multi-fixed tickets purchased on disposable cards, except for 1-day Next tickets (+€0.20).
What distance do you cover?
The TEC network is divided up into zones.
- Short distances: I choose the Next ticket, valid for 1 or 2 neighbouring zones.
- Longer distances without Express lines: I choose the Horizon ticket (valid over the entire network).
- Longer distances with Express lines: I prefer the Express ticket (valid over the entire network).
How old are you?
- Under 6 years: yippee it’s free! I travel with no special requirements or travel documents.
- 6-11 years: I travel free of charge thanks to my 6-11 years subscription.
- 12-17 years: I travel with my paid 12-17 years subscription.
- 18-24 years: I travel at reduced rates with my paid 18-24 years subscription.
- 25-64 years: I may be partly reimbursed for my subscription by my employer.
- 65 years and over: I travel at reduced rates or free of charge with the 65+ subscription.
Whichever subscription you have, you can travel for free on the entire network and TEC Express lines at weekends and on public holidays.
