Before boarding
Some really practical advice!
Wait for your bus at the right place
Does your line actually go to your stop? Check using the yellow posts. Then wait under the bus shelter or next to the post and make a signal to the driver when they arrive.
Decipher the yellow posts like a pro
1 post, 4 pieces of information
The name of the stop. (E.g. Rue Rogier)
The zone in which the stop is located
(E.g. Zone 1)
The number of bus lines stopping at the stop. (E.g. lines 4 - 12)
The destination of these lines. (E.g. Wépion, Huy).
When should I be at the stop?
Five minutes in advance! Not all of us have our watches set to the correct time. So it is better to be early than to be running behind your bus. Take advantage of the time you have to get your travel document ready.
How do I recognise my bus?
By its number! Located at the front, at the rear and sometimes on the side of the bus, followed by a description of the route.
And for the Charleroi Light Metro?
Locate the entrances to the metro station you are interested in; these may be underground or above ground. When you reach the platform, use the direction sign to check that you are going in the right direction.
Be sure to wait for the next metro behind the yellow safety line; do not get off the platform or cross the tracks.
Wait for the train to come to a complete stop before boarding. Unlike bus doors, the doors of the metro open automatically. If not, press the green button near the doors. However, be sure to let the other passengers out before boarding.
Attention, for your own safety, it is forbidden to board the metro when the buzzer sounds.
